CA' DEL GREVINO
Ca’ Del Grevino's vineyards were established in the Santa Maria Valley of California in early 2000. The land was previously a cattle farm, however it had all the characteristics of a great wine estate; rolling hills, diverse microclimates and complex soil types.
Today Ca’ Del Grevino remains a family-owned winery, that farms sustainably and hand harvests high quality varietals including Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Grenacge, Syrah and Dolcetto.
The winery was designed with their Italian heritage, and the unique characteristics of the vineyard in mind. With no natural barriers between the vineyard and the ocean, the fog rolls in freely to cool the vines at night, often remaining throughout the morning and into midday.
The unique production facility capitalizes on the elevation, and utilizes the natural cooling of the earth, and its caves.
Both stainless steel and French oak barrels are used to bring out the hallmark Ca' Del Grevino finesse and elegance, from each diverse vineyard block.
Today, Ca' Del Grevino has a vision to create wines of the highest quality. The vineyard has been farmed meticulously, utilizing sustainable techniques, hand harvesting, and hand sorting. To ensure quality, the Grevino range is grown and bottled entirely on the estate.
You will find rich, fruit-forward wines that can be enjoyed today, without the need to age, or decant them. The crops are reduced to include only the highesst quality fruit, yielding only 3 tons per acre. Compare this to the large, commerical wineries that crop 10, and sometimes 15 tons per acre.
Ca' Del Grevino believes that winemaking begins in the vineyard, and growing well-balanced grapes results in a well-balanced wine.
